Marketing Communication Specialist

SBR is looking for an enthusiastic, talented and driven professional who has experience writing strategic communications in the corporate and/or agency environments.  As SBR’s Marketing Communication Specialist, you will be responsible for creating a multitude of written and visual elements of the work we produce.  Your role will include the following:

  • Write content for direct-to-consumer and sales groups, including informational pieces, field sales and call guides, presentations, training materials, questionnaires, etc.;
  • Draft storylines and information tools to support sales representatives;
  • Convert high-level strategic plans into insights and tangible deliverables;
  • Analyze large quantities of complex industry information (e.g. financial, governmental, health insurance) and translate it for the masses;
  • Construct visual presentations and infographics for clients and their consumers;
  • Analyze user needs and business objectives through client, customer and/or user interviews, shadow sessions, and the like;
  • Manage tasks and timelines in accordance with work and action plans;
  • Complete work independently and with minimal supervision; and,
  • Offer input into the direction of discrete deliverables.


You are a great fit for this position if you have:

  • 2-5 years agency experience or an advanced degree and 1-2 years of agency experience;
  • Experience in plain language writing, information architecture, brand voice and story development, marketing communications, advertising or related field;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex products for the general public (writing samples will be required);
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the areas of Information Architecture, professional/user writing, marketing/communications, research methods with human subjects, Humanities and/or Social Sciences; and,
  • Experience working with tools such as Keynote, Photoshop, Adobe, and related design software and/or working alongside graphic design teams a major plus.
